Pet owners love their furry friends, and would do anything for them, which is why owners rush their pets to veterinary care centers the moment they’re sick. The only trouble is that the survival instincts of dogs and cats tell them to hide the fact that they’re unwell, lest they look like a weak target to predator. Consequently, it can he hard for a pet owner to tell whether or not their furry friends need to see their vets and veterinarian technicians, or if they’re okay.
Luckily, the situation is not entirely hopeless. Although they may not be able to speak, pets can let their owners know they’re sick. Here are just a few of the ways pet owners can tell if it’s time to go to the veterinary care center.
Odd Eating Habits.
One of the most obvious signs you need to take your furry pal to the veterinary care centers is a break from their usual eating habits. It’s not odd for dogs to skip a meal or two, particularly when it’s hot out, but anything more is a definite red flag that something is wrong.
Lethargy.
Some pet are more active than others, naturally, but if your furry friend is being lethargic (or more lethargic than usual) for a couple days, then get them to an advanced veterinary care center. Although heat and over exercise may be responsible for normal fatigue and soreness, there may be another issue. If the problem persists, then there’s definitely something going on.
The Vet Says So.
If you think your pet is having a medical issue, but aren’t sure, then call your vet and ask. Someone at the veterinary care center will more than likely be able to tell you whether or not your pal should come in, and get looked at.
Although these signs don’t warrant a trip to emergency vet care, they do mean a trip to a veterinary care center. In other words, it’s probably not that big of a deal, but there might be a problem that needs taking care of.
